Pregnancy Photos

Professional Pregnancy Photos at 7 months

My colleague in the event planning industry, world renowned photographer, Erik Svennson (www.capturingthepassion.com), was kind enough to offer to take some pre-pregnancy photos (and post-birth photos of the baby when she arrives), and I wasn't about to pass up an offer like that! So, here are just a couple of the pictures he took when he came to our home a week ago.

Aside from the twenty pounds I have gained and the extreme bloating I have goin' on, I think they came out pretty well. It's kind of difficult to feel worthy of being photographed when I imagine myself looking like a beached whale. However, Erik and my gorgeous hubby managed to make me feel beautiful that day.

Thank God for small favors . . .

Sonogram Pics

12-Week Sonogram Pics

Once we found out we were pregnant it seemed like FOREVER before we had our first sonogram pic. Sadly, when we finally saw the little bugger, it just looked like a peanut in there. We got a much better view of our little one at 12 weeks, which is when this photo was taken. You can just make out her head, miniscule body, arms and legs. I was in awe seeing the little legs and arms wiggle on something so teeny tiny. I giggled every time she moved, which must have only made her move more because her legs would kick out. This is when it hit me that there is a human being in there, and although we didn't know if it was a girl or boy, we were smitten with this growing being.

Here is a profile view of her and in the top picture you can see that the arm and hand look like it is near the mouth.

16-Week, 3-D Sonogram Pics

It's a girl????!!! Yep, we were a little shocked since we thought it might be a boy due to my very easy and uneventful pregnancy thus far. However, we were SO wrong. These 3-D shots proved to the sono tech that it indeed was a girl. Although the 3-D pics are kind of cool, they can also be a bit creepy this early on because the baby still kind of looks like an alien. I was reassured that she will come out cuter than she looks here . . .whew! Who does she look like?????

20-Week Sonogram Pics
At 20 weeks we got awesome profile pics of her. I just want to smooch her little bitty nose. I think her profile looks like her daddy's. . .

We got a picture of her spine which is healthy and well-formed - yay!

Below is a photo of her enormous foot. Where did she get that from? I'm only a size 5 1/2 so that must be from Pete. The picture to the right is the "money shot." No pee pee there! Definitely a female - ha!

Some more . . .the skeleton-looking ones scare me. .

These are the last shots we have of her until she makes her debut into this world in July. It is hard not to be able to check in on her and see her moving around, but I can feel her wiggling around in there having a grand time. Can't wait to meet her . . .

Saturday, April 11th - Can You Believe It?!

So, the unthinkable has happened. I have finally succumbed to the technology craze by becoming a blogger myself after years of resistance (I may be the only person in America who still doesn't use Facebook as my main means of communication- ha!). Conformity at its finest! However, with the upcoming arrival of our daughter, and having friends and family all over the country, we felt this might be an effective way to keep people updated on our lives, and the new life of our baby girl, when she arrives in July.We hope you peruse all of the pics, videos, anecdotes, and updates that will grace this page over time. Right now we are hoping our little man, Adonis, gets used to the idea of having a little sister. Thanks for this recent pic, Joanna . . .he really is the little prince around here.

Planning to put sonogram pics and pics of our developing house up soon for those who haven't seen them yet. . .
